Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with a new route to Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Addis Ababa, Ethiopia-based airline will launch the new four-times weekly (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) service between Addis Ababa and Hanoi via Dhaka, Bangladesh on July 10. The return flights will depart from Hanoi the following day.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will be used on the new route – the first for Ethiopian Airlines to Vietnam.
In a statement, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mefin Tasew said: “We are pleased to expand our presence in Southeast Asia and enhance air connectivity for our customers in the region. This new route will create opportunities for stronger ties and collaborations between Vietnam and our extensive global network. We look forward to bringing our renowned service to Vietnam and further growing our presence in this dynamic market.”
Hanoi will be the fifth destination Ethiopian Airlines serves in Southeast Asia. The airline currently operates flights to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (via Singapore), Bangkok, Jakarta (via Bangkok), and Manila (via Hong Kong).
